Rufus Leaking here to turn you on to one of my favorite new up and coming bands. Well… they’re not really new, but rather the latest musical incarnation for the sassiest boy in America, Ian Svenonius. They’re called Chain and the Gang, and you’ll love them for all the same reasons you loved The Make Up, Nation of Ulysses, and Weird War. They performed last Thursday and Friday night at the 9:30 Club opening for M.Ward. Wish I coulda gone but my private jet has been grounded for maintenance. I heard from a very reliable source that it was totally awesome though. I was told they played with a simple complexity… whatever that means?
I gotta go! It’s dollar taco night down the street at Baragan’s and I never pass up dollar tacos! I’ll leave you all with this lil clip from when Weird War performed on the Mountain.
